Rio 2016 Olympic gold medalist Gwen Jorgensen is back on the blue carpet with her sights set firmly on Paris 2024 qualification.
After leaving triathlon at the end of the 2016 season to focus on running, in late 2022 Jorgensen made the announcement she was ready to return to swim-bike-run, fuelled by her love of the mixed relay format, the sport that she has already given so much, and a determination to get back to the top.
Predictably, the 2023 season had its ups and downs, but after a testing return to the Series in Cagliari, Jorgensen was back on the World Cup podium in steamy Huatulco with individual silver and Mixed Relay gold for USA, and then proceeded to scoop four World Cup golds in Valencia, Karlovy Vary, Tongyeong and Vina del Mar.
The Olympic year got off to a strong start with bronze at the fast and furious Lievin Indoor World Cup as the race to a place on the US Olympic squad hots up.
