British Triathlon will be hosting the second edition of the International Para Triathlon Conference in Swansea from 12-14 July, just days before the world’s best paratriathletes race around the Prince of Wales Dock and SA1 Waterfront in the World Triathlon Para Series.
Open to all national triathlon federations, from the ones that have an established para triathlon programme to the NFs looking to create a new programme, the conference will aim to build on the success of last year’s event and will focus on the importance of Para triathlon and the ways to continue to establish the sport globally.
Attendees will have the opportunity to learn from a range of experts from across the world, who will be discussing the latest research and approaches at both elite and development level. There will also be the opportunity to take part in sessions and workshops, allowing for discussion and wider learning between federations.
Andy Salmon, British Triathlon CEO, said: “I’m really excited and looking forward to British Triathlon hosting the Para Triathlon Conference in Swansea again, after the success of the inaugural event there last year. It’s a critical time for paratriathlon, especially with the Paralympics just over a year away, and I hope that together we can accelerate momentum and develop the sport for Para triathletes of all abilities, all over the world. To host this conference on the eve of the World Triathlon Paratriathlon Series race on 15th July makes complete sense and we look forward to welcoming delegates and Para triathletes from all over the world.”
