ABOUT SAN SALVADOR San Salvador is the capital and largest city of the Republic of El Salvador and one of the most populous cities in Central America. San Salvador is located at 670 meters above sea level. The city has a warm climate all year round, with December, January and February being cool. Temperatures remain between 18 °C and 33 °C. The hottest are March, April and May. From May to October is the rainy season in which floods usually occur. The temperature varies between noon and midnight due to changes in humidity levels. TRIATHLON HOST CITY The triathlon of the 2023 Central America & Caribbean Games will be hosted at Costa del Sol, which is located in the department of La Paz, 65 km from the capital San Salvador and also has the beach of the same name, which has an extension of about 15 kilometers, considered one of the best and most famous beaches in El Salvador, besides being the largest. The individual events swim course will be point to point at Jatepeque Estero, starting from Acajutla Restaurant in the direction of La Puntilla, to finish at Pacific Paradise Hotel. The mixed relay swim course will be at Pacific Paradise. The cycle and run of both events will take place on Costa del Sol Boulevard.
